Executive Director of Humanware/ SEL Department
Bill has over 44 years of experience in education including work as a teacher, coach, school psychologist, crisis coordinator and district administrator. He has extensive knowledge with all levels of education from preschool through grade 12. Bill is presently an employee of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District as the executive Director of the Human ware/Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Department. He continues to have a particular emphasis in the ongoing development and supervision of the school district’s Rapid Response (crisis response) Team and is the former manager of the Office of Psychological Services. His background also includes private practice with youth and their families and chairman of the Ohio School Psychologists Association, State-wide Crisis Intervention Response Team.

A Comprehensive Approach to School Safety
This session will make clear the importance of school safety through a blend of both Hardware and Human ware initiatives. The session will share information regarding a school shooting that changed a school district's approach to student and staff safety. The presenter will review all the tools put into place to create a safe climate in a large urban school setting.Learning Objectives and Participant Outcomes
