Public Health Emergency Preparedness Coordinator
Vincent Cantu is the Public Health Emergency Preparedness coordinator for the Abilene- Taylor County Public Health District where he is responsible for preparing and implementing plans aimed at mitigating the damage caused by events such as natural disasters, bio terrorist attacks and pandemics. Along with Emergency Preparedness, he also oversees the Strategic National Stockpile and local Medical Counter Measure programs for the City of Abilene.
Vincent is the vector control officer of the vector control program for the city. His qualifications come via the Texas Department of Emergency Management, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Department of Homeland Security, and is a graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health.
